Good luck Jonathan,
the more time you spend the more you will find but not always on the same day,
sometimes things will turn up years later on the sites you detected over in the past..

just remember not to be in a hurry (unless a Bull is snorting at you)
walk slowly to get those deep signals swing the head close to the ground for max coverage
and after detecting clean the head cover out as they cause false sigs when water/mud is inside
hope you find some nice things.

I am told by a very good mate that the jimny is very good fun to drive, his other car is a corvette, but he loves his jimny Cool you should get loads of fun from it especially in weather like last week.

I got out for 30 minutes today but only tin cans Evil or Very Mad and lead.

A couple of interesting bits.

Post  ken on Mon Jan 25, 2010 8:49 pm

I found a couple of interesting bits sunday afternoon, Smile the first good find in a new field (which had been partly Manured) was a badge from Australia of what I believe is a trade union or similar, (Pantrymen)possibly something to do with cow milking Wink after this I was just about to give up there was so little, other than aluminium, to be found but I persevered and was rewarded with a very badley decayed roman Dupondus (large bronze of about 30mm diameter by about 4mm thick where it remains, probably of around 150 to 200 AD, but waiting for the numismatics section to confirm this guess.
makes me a little more eager to go out next weekend. Cool
